More linkage on the C of E and Women Bishops
A surprisingly thoughtful piece on the hoo-hah around the Manchester Report from the Torygraph.

On a more theological note, would the Roman Catholic Church recognize the validity of the consecration of a man as priest by a female bishop (who was validly installed under Anglican canon law)? Maybe denying the validity of such an appointment makes one a quasi-Donatist ...

Pragmatically, women bishops might make things more difficult - but I'm not even sure of that given that we have women priests already; I don't know whether bishops would be seen as making things worse or not (the EKD in Germany has women bishops, and they seem to mostly rub along OK with the RCs in general). And while I do wish that the divisions between Catholic and Anglican were less, I don't think you can make ecumenism the measure of everything - you have to be true to your own beliefs, or there's no point.
