(no subject)

I finished my sermon!

Now to finish typing up some grammar exercises, bake a pizza, crack open a beer, and watch something on DVD: either Galaxy Quest, The Name of the Rose, or The Green Death (the Third Doctor, giant maggots, the Brigadeer wearing black tie while having dinner with an alternative green collective, and Jo falling for an absurdly young and long haired Welsh physicist)

I think that if the Brig. went to an Oxford college, it was clearly Oriel (sorry: I am currently mildly obsessed with matching people to colleges. A bit like 'What Hogwarts House would you be in', only with more variables).

So: what should I watch post pizza: Alan Rickman in silly make-up; Sean Connery with murderous monks; Jon Pertwee and giant maggots?

Bravo!

By Grabthar's hammer and the sons of Warvan, I'd favour Galaxy Quest, as the original novel is (once again) better than the screen adaptation of The Name of the Rose. I have never seen The Green Death, but green maggots sound either incredibly yucky or very cheesy.

Hmmn, on the other hand, I'll most certainly be watching Genesis of the Daleks tonight (sans pizza, but post-pasta), so I probably shouldn't vote against the Doctor. :)

Is "genesis og the Daleks" the Tom Baker one?

Yes, it is. And I think its moral message of "you can't trust mad scientists that remind you a bit of Dr Strangelove" might be just a tad more obvious than "you can't trust multinationals".

Wow, those are all pretty inviting possibilities. Maybe you need a movie marathon instead.

Just make sure you do one of them - don't waste your entire evening havering about which one to choose, only to find you're too tired to appreciate any of them! That's happened to me quite a few times.

If it was me I'd go for Galaxy Quest... but that's just me.
