The Pandorica Opens - incoherent thoughts

Brief impressions: very good, though I can't see how they can resolve this... (I do have some hopes that even if a reset button is used, there will be some cost)

That said, Auton! Rory broke my heart - but well done Moff for taking a classic Who villain and not only doing them well (unlike the terminally naff Autons in Rose), but making something new out of them. I expect Autons to be scary and creepy - I don't expect them to make me want to cry. Well played indeed - and we mustn't forget how well he was acted.

I was expecting - given the Doctor's description - that the Thing in the Pandorica was going to be the Doctor; I didn't expect the Committee of Evil to be putting him in there (though it does rather redeem the at-the-time embarrassing Doctorly harangue).

River was brilliant. I have had my moments of doubt about her, but now I am converted. She may or may not be the Doctor's wife, but she's like Captain Jack, only without the dodgy sexual-harrassment-in-the-workplace issues*, and generally less annoying.

For the first time in ages (I think since about the halcyon days of Two - if we discount "Spare Parts") the Cybermen really scared me - they went straight for the body horror aspect, and wow, it was creepy. Though the slow build with the brief glimpses of Cyberman parts was really quite well done - and then the horror of the cyber tentacles, and the head with the skull trying to absorb Amy - Aaargh!
