Can I just say "word!" to this comment, not to mention the entire thread? My thoughts exactly, after watching "Journey's End." At least both Jack and Sarah Jane have proved to be exceptions. I wonder if that's partially because they're been made heroes of their own stories?

I would love to see former companions become awesome where they've ended up, because of the Doctor.
